Counseling: Academic Development

Academic Development

iMiddle is grounded in technology and character. While many students have been participating in character ed lessons in previous years, the technology end may be new to some. The following are some tips to navigate the many sites:

PowerSchool Student Portal (also accessible from, under quicklinks-parents and students use same site)

PowerSchool uses Active Directory ID #s and Passwords (the district issued ID and password). If you need your ID or password, ask your Science teacher or visit Mrs. Rozsnyoi in the CC.

Parents should check their child's PowerSchool account at least once a week. Information on graded assignments, attendance, schedule and progress reports/report cards can be found here. Teachers typically post assignments here after they are graded. Please give teachers 1-2 weeks to grade and post an assignment. You can access teacher's email information here as well. Parents, you can access PowerSchool with your own account or with your child's information. If you need help creating your own account, please email Kristy Rozsnyoi at or fill out an appointment request form

Where to find my homework: Go to; Teacher Webpages, then click on the name of your teacher for each subject. You will find Assignments/Homework on the top left colunm. You must check every teacher. This site should be checked every night, and match the homework that is written in the student's planner or online homework recording system (most use reminders or sticky notes on the ipad). If you are absent, you are still responsible for checking what your daily homework is on this website.

Google Drive:

This year every student was given a google drive account, as we are using this site-wide as the system for collaboration on work and predominately for online work submission. 7th and 8th grade students have different account set up as follows

8th grade: 15 first inital last (

7th grade: 16 first inital last (

Wiki Sites:

Wiki is a website that allows the easy creation and editing of any number of web pages. Some teachers have created wiki sites for their individual classes. Each class will have a different wiki url.

LMS: Also known as Moodle, LMS is an open source learning management system used by many schools across the district. Students need to enter their active directory ID and password to view their courses. Students have to be "enrolled" in each of their teacher courses to see content.

Schoology: Schoology is a learning management system focused on collaboration, that allows users to create, manage, and share academic content.

Academic Guidance Curriculum

The academic guidance curriculum consists of structured developmental experiences presented through classroom and large group activities. The purpose is to provide all students at all grade levels with knowledge and assistance in acquiring and using resources to accomplish academic goals. This includes the following:
